Catholic Charities of Los Angeles is sponsoring free Citizenship Workshops.  People will be able to receive assistance in filing for U.S. citizenship.  To qualify for citizenship, a person must satisfy age, residency, language, and character requirements.

Southern California Renewal Communities is planning veneration, blessing, and healing prayer with St. Padre Pio’s blood-stained relic glove.  It will be held on Saturday, November 23, at St. Mark’s University Parish in Goleta.  The schedule is as follows:

10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Registration required - free admission for UCSB students):
-Presentations on St. Padre Pio's Life, Miracles, and Stigmata by Dominic Berardino

6.      Divine Mercy Ministry at Christ the King Parish in Los Angeles:  Southern California Congress of Divine Mercy, Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24

The Divine Mercy Ministry at Christ the King Parish in Los Angeles is sponsoring its annual Southern California Congress of Divine Mercy on Saturday, November 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, November 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The theme of this year’s event is “Man is the Way of the Church, and Christ is the Way of Man.”  The event will include conferences, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Reconciliation, Mass, and the Hour of Great Mercy. 7.      Get on the Bus Program:  Volunteers Needed

The “Get on the Bus” Program is a non-profit program that unites children with their mothers and fathers in prison in California.  It is part of the Center for Restorative Justice Works (CRJW). 8.      Southern California Christian Forum:  Ecumenical Bible Study and Prayer Service, Tuesday, December 3, in Burbank
All are invited to join the Southern California Christian Forum on Tuesday, December 3, for an ecumenical bible study and prayer service hosted by the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral in Burbank (3325 N Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91504).  The theme for the bible study is “Lay Ecumenism” and the scripture passage is Ephesians 4:1-16.  Schedule is:

9.      Office for Worship and St. Bartholomew Parish in Long Beach:  Calendar of Upcoming Events on Bereavement

The Office for Worship and St. Bartholomew Parish in Long Beach are sponsoring the following events on bereavement:

One-Day Spiritual Retreat for Grieving Parents.  Saturday, December 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., at St. Bartholomew Parish in Long Beach.  Losing a child under any circumstance is horrific.  Focusing on the spirituality of the grieving process can help tremendously.  Emmaus Ministry for Grieving Parents is a ministry for parents whose children of any age have died by any cause, no matter how long ago.  St. Bartholomew Parish will host an Emmaus Ministry for Grieving Parents One-Day Spiritual Retreat.  All are welcome.  Cost is $25 per person; or $40 per couple. 10.     Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles:  “La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin,” Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, in Los Angeles

A limited number of “La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin” reserved seating tickets are now for sale.  La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dios Inantzin features over 100 actors, singers, and indigenous Aztec dancers, as well as children and seniors from the community in the City’s largest theatrical holiday production.  All are invited to join the tens of thousands who have become transfixed by the story of Juan Diego, a simple peasant to whom the Virgin Mary appeared on four occasions in the mountains of Tepeyac near Mexico City in 1531.  Adapted for the stage from the mid-16th century text The Nican Mopohua and performed in Spanish with English supertitles, this site-specific epic event, presented by Goya Foods and produced by the Latino Theater Company, unites families during the holiday season.  This event stars Esperanza America as La Virgen and Sal Lopez as Juan Diego.  It also features Luis Aldana, Damián Delgado, Cástulo Guerra, Xavi Moreno, Dyana Ortelli, and Geoffrey Rivas.  Entrance is free.  Guaranteed reserved seating is available for purchase at $45. 11.     Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace:  Holiday Party Benefitting “Get on the Bus” Program of the Center for Restorative Justice Works, Friday, December 13, in Los Angeles

The Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP) is holding a Holiday Party on Friday, December 13, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church. 3300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA  90010.  All are invited join them and celebrate another year of fostering love, compassion, and activism to make this a better world for all.  The Rev. James Lawson, civil rights activist and icon, will join the celebration to give a special holiday reflection.  In the holiday spirit, those attending are invited to support Get On The Bus (GOTB), a nonprofit program of the Center for Restorative Justice Works that unites children with parents who are incarcerated.  ICUJP is collecting items for backpacks for the 2020 GOTB visits.  These help make the long trips easier for the kids and caregivers. 12.     Daughters of St. Paul:  “He is Born!”  A Christmas Concert with the Daughters of St. Paul, Saturday, December 14, in Culver City

The famed Pauline “media nuns” bring their gift of evangelization through music coast to coast for the “He Is Born” Christmas concert tour attracting people of all ages and walks of life wanting to catch the Christmas spirit. 13.     Emmaus Spiritual Ministries in Orange:  Calendar of Events on Men’s Spirituality; and Enrichment for Spiritual Directors

Emmaus Spiritual Ministries, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, is sponsoring the following events.  All sessions will be held at St. Joseph Center at 434 S. Batavia St. in Orange:
“On the Road:  A Spirituality Series for Men,” is a multi-part series for men that will address various aspects of men’s spirituality.  Presenters will include:  Fr. Jim Clarke, Ph.D.; Fr.
