Transformation for A New Creation: Teilhard de Chardin and Beatrice Bruteau
Rev. Stephen Coffey, OSB Cam

7:00pm Friday, October 25 to 1:30pm Sunday, October 27<x-apple-data-detectors://196>

This weekend retreat will explore the mysticism of two of the 20th century’s profound spiritual mentors: French Jesuit scientist Teilhard de Chardin, and the American philosopher and contemplative practitioner Beatrice Bruteau. Whereas Teilhard saw the grand cosmic scheme of Christ in evolution, Beatrice developed an understanding of the human person in evolution. She invites us to participate in the divine ecstasy that leads to both personal transformation and a new creation. Stephen Coffey is a monk of the Camaldolese Benedictine Congregation engaged in ministries of spiritual direction, retreats, and adult faith formation. He lives at the Monastery of the Risen Christ in San Luis Obispo. Reading Beatrice Bruteau’s The Holy Thursday Revolution before the retreat is helpful but not necessary. Cost: per person/shared $240; single $340; commuter $150
